Mental health is SUCH an important topic, and we all should be prioritizing our mental health regularly. If you are struggling with it, it's not at all something you should be ashamed of! Nearly 1 in 4 Americans struggle with a diagnosable mental health disorder. Read: you are not alone. And you should seek support from a trusted loved one or professional.

Here are 5 simple ways to prioritize your mental health. ⬇✨


#1. Talk about your feelings. Yes, this is uncomfortable for many of us, but it really is necessary to do regularly. Talking about our feelings with loved ones or a professional help us to process what's inside and move forward.
#2. Stay connected. A healthy support system of friends and family is a pillar of mental health. Even when you're extremely busy, do not let your social connections fall by the way side!
#3. Practice gratitude. Focusing on what we DO have in our lives can reduce negative feelings & increase positive ones. Ideally, take a few moments each morning to write down what you're grateful for.
#4. See a mental healthcare provider. Therapists are NOT taboo anymore! Instead, they are a crucial part of so many people's well-being. Speaking with a trained professional can help you improve your life in many ways.
#5. Stay active.
Exercise burns more than just calories: it helps you get rid of stress and anxiety, and gives you a burst of feel-good hormones that will help your mood and outlook on life.
