Master the Morning
Whether your wake-up call is at 5am or 11am (must be nice!), the first 60 minutes of your morning are crucial to setting the tone for a healthy and productive day. Here are some of the best ways we’ve found to start your day off right!
Start with gratitude. Before you even get out of bed, think of something you are grateful for. Starting every day with gratitude puts things into perspective and makes you less susceptible to getting stressed out later on.
Hydrate. Water should be the first thing you put into your body each day. Drinking water not only re-hydrates you, but will also flush out toxins and get your oxygen and blood flowing. We suggest adding some fresh lemon juice to kick-start your metabolism!
Get your veggies in. Green smoothies are our favorite breakfast! Since time is usually of the essence in the morning (we know how precious those extra minutes of sleep are), we like to keep it simple: toss a handful of greens, a few frozen berries, half a banana, and a scoop of protein powder into the blender. Fill with water; blend, and enjoy!
Set your intention for the day. Before you get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, spend two minutes alone with your thoughts and decide on your focus for the day. Whether it’s to remain calm during a stressful meeting with your (crazy) boss, to push yourself harder at the gym, or anything else - deciding what you are going to accomplish in advance will help you to be successful!
Get your workout on. Making time to exercise at the very beginning of the day ensures that you don’t skip out on it; not to mention it gives you a ton of energy for the rest of the day!
Read something inspiring. Whether it’s a quote-of-the-day calendar (we love this one) or an upbeat morning text (check out Shine Text app), starting your day with some positivity should put you in a good mood!
