10 Ways to Stay Active at Home


Just because you are safe at home, doesn't mean you can't stay active! You just have to get a little more creative and think outside the gym. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Here are 10 ways we came up with to help you move your body while safe at home!

1๏ธโƒฃ Start a competition with your quarantine mates. ๐Ÿ‘ฏ โ†’ โ€‹ Who doesn't love a little friendly competition?! Create a simple grid with everyone's name to keep track of workouts, and make fun prizes (for example, the loser has to cook dinner, take out the garbage for a week, etc!)

2๏ธโƒฃ Work standing up. ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ โ†’ It is better for your posture, blood flow, and energy levels. No standing desk? No problem! Get creative: use a box, stack books, etc!

3๏ธโƒฃ Set a calendar reminder to move your body every hour, on the hour, for at least 3 minutes. ๐Ÿ“† โ†’ You can go up and down the stairs, do jumping jacks, squats, push-ups - you name it, just get your blood pumping! โ†’ For you #overachievers out there, try our all-time fave 7-minute HIIT workout that really works - we promise!

4๏ธโƒฃ Play a physical game with your kiddos. ๐Ÿ‘ช โ†’ โ€‹Try shooting some hoops in the drive way, wrestling in the living room, or even doing a dance workout online!

5๏ธโƒฃ Sit on yoga ball instead of a chair. ๐Ÿ”ต โ†’ It's good for strengthening your core, it's fun, and will encourage you to move more throughout the day! We're fan of this one, available for ~$20 on Amazon.

6๏ธโƒฃ Host a virtual workout with friends! ๐Ÿ’ช โ†’ Have everyone join a Zoom or Google Hangout, and screenshare a workout video that everyone can do together 7๏ธโƒฃ Walk your dog. ๐Ÿถ โ†’ Walks are great for blood flow through your body, mental clarity and de-stressing, as well as pup bonding! ๐Ÿ˜

8๏ธโƒฃ Use an exercise band. โญ• โ†’ These are great for strength training in the comfort of your own home - and the exercise possibilities are endless!
